Ensemble

Ensemble is an automatic levelling engine that keeps a group of channels at consistent loudness — a chorus leveller for live sound.

Dual meters per channel show input level and gain reduction.

Enable it and select which channels to include. Ensemble monitors their input levels and applies transparent gain correction to keep them even, without you riding individual faders. One channel is designated as the reference — the target level everything else matches.

Seven parameters shape the levelling behaviour:

  • Threshold — below this level, no correction is applied.
  • Max Boost / Max Attenuate — limits on how much gain Ensemble can add or remove.
  • Attack — how quickly correction engages.
  • Hold — how long peak level is sustained before releasing.
  • Release — how quickly correction returns to baseline.
  • Breath Gate — suppresses output during pauses shorter than this duration.
  • Adaptive Release — enables faster release for transient-heavy sources.

The channel grid shows dual meters per channel — input level and gain reduction — so you can see exactly what Ensemble is doing in real time.

Use it on backing vocals that drift in level, acoustic instruments with uneven dynamics, or any group of sources that need to sit together without constant manual attention.
